UMYU 2025/2026 Post UTME Registration: Second Round + New Courses

Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina, has officially announced the commencement of its second-round Post UTME registration for the 2025/2026 academic session, following fresh approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to launch 15 new undergraduate programmes.

According to the university management, this second phase provides another opportunity for candidates who missed the first screening or wish to apply for newly approved programmes to take part in the upcoming Post UTME Aptitude Test.

Newly Approved Degree Programmes

The NUC has approved the following 15 innovative and career-driven courses for the 2025/2026 academic session:

  1. Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT)
  2. B.NSc. Nursing Science
  3. B.Medical Laboratory Science
  4. B.Sc. Cyber Security
  5. B.Sc. Plant Science and Biotechnology
  6. B.Sc. Animal and Environmental Biology
  7. B.Sc. Medical Physics
  8. B.Sc. Physics with Electronics
  9. B.Sc. Applied Geophysics
  10. B.Sc. Information System
  11. B.Sc. Software Engineering
  12. B.Ed. Educational Management
  13. B.Ed. Guidance and Counselling
  14. B.A. Arabic Literary Study and Translation
  15. B.Sc. Food Science and Technology

Interested candidates can now apply for these programmes through the official UMYU Post UTME Portal.

Exempted Programmes

UMYU has clarified that the following programmes are not part of this second-round Post UTME:

  • Agriculture
  • Biochemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Education & Computer Science
  • Environmental Management
  • International Relations
  • Law
  • Library and Information Science
  • Medicine & Surgery
  • Microbiology

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the UMYU Post UTME Aptitude Test, applicants must:

  • Choose Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina as their first choice in the 2025 UTME.
  • Score at least the minimum cut-off mark for their selected programme.
  • Possess the correct UTME subject combination as required by their chosen course.

Registration Requirements

All applicants must upload clear, valid copies of the following during registration:

  • 2025 JAMB UTME Result Slip
  • O’Level Result(s)
  • Valid means of identification (Indigene Letter, National ID Card, or International Passport)

Candidates awaiting their O’Level results are also eligible to apply.

Registration and Test Schedule

  • Registration Period: Saturday, 11th October – Friday, 17th October 2025
  • Aptitude Test Date: Saturday, 18th October 2025

Candidates identified by JAMB as having special needs are exempted from the test. Such applicants must submit hard copies of their credentials directly to the Office of the Registrar.

Payment Procedure

Applicants should print and bring their payment slips to the test venue for verification.
