
Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University (UMYU), Katsina, has officially released the first batch (Merit) admission list for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This announcement brings great excitement to thousands of candidates who applied for admission into the university through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The released list includes names of successful applicants who met the university’s admission requirements and have been offered provisional admission into various undergraduate programmes.
How to Check the UMYU Admission List
Here’s a simple step-by-step guide for all applicants:
Step 1: View the Merit List
- Visit the official UMYU website to access the published Merit Admission List.
- Note that screening and verification for admitted candidates will take place from Monday, 21 October 2025, to Monday, 4 November 2025.
- If your name appears on the list, proceed immediately with the next steps to secure your place.
Step 2: Accept Your Admission on JAMB CAPS
- Go to the JAMB CAPS Portal.
- Log in using your JAMB profile details.
- Click on “Accept” or “Reject Admission”under the Admission Status section.
Step 3: Confirm on UMYU Portal
- Visit the UMYU Applicant Portal.
- Log in with your registered details.
- Confirm your admission and pay the acceptance fee as directed on the portal.
Step 4: Print Important Documents
After confirmation, print the following documents:
- JAMB Admission Letter
- UMYU Admission Letter
These documents will be required during screening and registration.
Important Information for Admitted Candidates
- If you are offered a different course from your original choice, you must apply for a Change of Course on the JAMB Portal within one week.
- Ensure your O’Level results are uploaded on the JAMB Portal to avoid disqualification.
- Complete all admission confirmation steps before the stated deadline to maintain your offer.
